Billionaire grandpa Bill Gates shared an adorably geeky math-themed playlist
  • Bill Gates, one of the world's most famous geeks, just shared his math-themed playlist.
  • The playlist, which has songs from The Beatles and The White Stripes, is available on Spotify.

In news that should not surprise anyone, Bill Gates — a noted genius and geek — loves math. In fact, he loves it so much, that he, or perhaps one of his assistants, made a math-themed Spotify playlist.

After posting an Instagram poll asking his 8.2 million followers to vote for their least favorite subject in school — 35% chose math — he shared the playlist, which is aptly called "By The Numbers."

"If you chose math, maybe my new playlist can help make it more enjoyable," he posted.

The playlist lives up to its name and is, well, as math-themed as a playlist could possibly be: There's "One" by Johnny Cash, "Two Of Us" by The Beatles, "Three Little Birds" by Bob, Marley, etc. There are also some surprising head-bangers on there, like "Black Math" from The White Stripes and "Zero Sum" from Nine Inch Nails.

"A playlist with songs about numbers and math adds up to a lot of great music," Gates quipped in its subhead.

It's worth a listen whether or not you are using it as a soundtrack for algebra. And while you're at it, check out Gates' Instagram for some more wholesome content. From a breakdown of favorite board games to a video of him enjoying a bubble tea with his daughter Phoebe, and a video montage for his friend Warren Buffett's 93rd birthday, it's giving surprisingly endearing grandfather energy for one of the richest men in the world.

You can check out the playlist for yourself here.
