Design and comfort
One of the things that may come to your mind when you think about a gaming mouse is flashy RGB lights. However, the Zowie EC2-CW does not come with any lights and offers a minimalistic design, making it a great option for those looking for a distraction-free device.

The BenQ Zowie EC2-CW is similar to the Zowie EC2-C, but comes with wireless connectivity. As mentioned earlier, the mouse comes in three sizes, EC1, EC2 and EC3. While the EC1 is the largest, EC2 is medium and EC3 is the smallest.Apart from a difference in the size, the devices also vary when it comes to the weight. While the EC1 weighs 79 grams, the EC2 weighs 77 grams and the EC3 is the lightest at 76 grams. While the difference in weight may seem negligible, it means a lot to professional gamers.
The mouse comes with an ergo design, which offers a grip that sits between a palm grip and a claw grip, which the company claims has been designed in a way to reduce fatigue.
The mouse is lightweight and during my testing, I found it to be comfortable. While a pincer-claw grip is not really practical with this design, you can opt for a normal claw grip while using it for gaming.
It comes with a matte black plastic body with the company’s logo in red. It comes with two buttons on the side that are responsive and work well.

The DP button and the button to switch between the dongle and the dock have been placed at the bottom.
The Zowie EC2-CW offers multiple connectivity options including a direct wired connection, dongle and the “enhanced receiver” dock connection.
Performance
The Zowie EC2-CW is equipped with the high-performance PixArt 3370 sensor. While it may not be the latest sensor on the block, it is a great option that gets the job done.
The mouse allows you to choose between four DPI settings – 400, 800,1600 and 3200. It also allows you to select between three polling rates – 125Hz, 500Hz, and 1000Hz

The mouse offers excellent tracking without any latency, be it while using the dock or the dongle. Honestly, I didn’t notice any significant difference between the two devices but the dock is a good way to charge the mouse.
I did not face any latency from the mouse while testing it. I used the EC2-CW while playing Counter Strike 2 and The Finals, both of which are fast-paced games and any latency could result in a loss.
The Zowie EC2-CW is claimed to offer a battery life of up to 70 hours on a single charge. The battery life is something that you shouldn’t really worry about with the device. You can charge it using the USB Type-C cable provided with the device.
The device does come with any software or application support and you can control the settings using the buttons provided below.

Verdict
The Zowie EC2-CW is a good option for those looking for a premium wireless gaming mouse. It ticks all the right boxes, including a comfortable design, good battery life, low latency and a minimalistic design. It is also one of the only devices in the segment to offer a dock that improves connection efficiency, making it a good option for serious gamers.
