Cupertino based tech giant Apple has launched the Watch Series 9 and the Watch Ultra 2 at its Wonderlust event, along with the iPhone 15 series at the Steve Jobs Theater at Apple Park.

The new Apple watch which will be launched on September 22 will have a new feature where the device can be used with a new feature called ‘double tap’.

“We can’t wait for you to start using it. Once you start using it, it will be a magical experience you will rely on,” said Jeff Williams, Chief Operating Officer, Apple.

The watch uses a machine learning algorithm to detect when the index finger is tapped twice onto the thumb by detecting blood flow. It's designed to allow the user to use the watch even while holding a cup of coffee, walking a dog or more.

The feature allows users to perform actions such as muting a call, pausing media and more.

The price of Apple Watch Series 9 starts at ₹41,900 and will be available from next month.

Faster & much easier to use

The Apple Watch Series 9 is equipped with the company’s new S9 chipset, which the company claims is 60% faster and comes with a 30% faster GPU.

The Watch Series 9 also gets the Name Drop feature with WatchOS 10. This allows the user to share personal information with other Watch Series 9 users.

WatchOS 10 also brings in greater Siri integration, allowing you to connect Siri with your health data. You can ask Siri how much sleep you got, your activities and more. The watch also comes with better connectivity with other products in the ecosystem such as the Homepod.

The Watch Series 9 offers a brightness range of 1 nits to 2,000 nits, allowing you to set the watch to your desired brightness levels.

Like its predecessor, the Watch Series 9 also offers a battery life of 18 hours on a single charge. To make things exciting, the watch does come with faster charging.
