Apple loyalists and sports fans finally have a hub just in time for March Madness.

On Wednesday, the tech giant launched Apple Sports — a free app where users can check game scores for an array of sports leagues. Fans can follow their favorite teams or leagues to stay up to date on when they play and how they're doing.

In addition to scoreboards and schedules, there's a sports betting feature that displays live betting odds. But, it can be turned off for those uninterested in betting on teams.

Where applicable, Apple Sports users can press an Apple TV button to be taken to a stream of the game they're keeping track of.

"We created Apple Sports to give sports fans what they want — an app that delivers incredibly fast access to scores and stats," said Eddy Cue, Apple's senior vice president of Services, in a statement.

Cue himself is also a big sports fanatic. He reportedly watches his favorite teams on a grid display made up of nine TVs.

"In an ideal world, when I'm looking at the Duke game, it says open the TV app, I'd like it to get me to the game of basketball," Cue told CNBC. "And that's what we try to do."

So far, Apple Sports is covering the following leagues while they're in season:

  • MLS

  • NBA

  • NCAA basketball (men's and women's)

  • NHL

  • Bundesliga

  • LaLiga

  • Liga MX

  • Ligue 1

  • Premier League

  • Serie A

Additional leagues — like the NFL, MLB, and WNBA — will become available "over time" as their seasons approach.
