- Elon Musk fired four Twitter managers who were previously on a "do not fire" list, per Platformer.
- It said their compensation packages included accelerated stock vesting, making them costly to fire.
Four senior Twitter managers were previously put on a "do not fire" list because it would be too costly to pay them out, but all four were fired anyway, Platformer reported.
Esther Crawford, director of product management; Martijn de Kuijper, senior product manager; Leah Culver, senior software engineer; and Haraldur Thorleifsson, a director, were considered expensive to pay out because of the accelerated stock vesting included in their compensation packages, per Platformer.
Twitter fired the four senior staffers over the weekend, the report said. They were among about 200 Twitter employees who reportedly departed during the latest round of layoffs under Elon Musk's leadership. The layoffs impacted a range of roles, including product managers, data scientists, and engineers, per Platformer.
Twitter and the four ex-Twitter managers didn't immediately respond to Insider's request for comment.
The managers' LinkedIn profiles say they all worked at Twitter for just over two years.
After the news broke about her job cut, Crawford tweeted that had no regrets about going "all-in on Twitter 2.0." Crawford was known for her commitment to Musk's "Twitter 2.0" and went viral when a picture was shared of her apparently sleeping on the floor in the office.
She later tweeted that people who are afraid of being "publicly dunked on" should stay "small and invisible."
Since buying Twitter in October, Musk has laid off thousands of employees. He said in November that no further layoffs were planned.
