1. Amazon could announce a roughly $9 billion deal to acquire MGM this week. Industry sources said the tech giant has been negotiating the deal for weeks, and the acquisition could be announced within a matter of days. Here's what the deal would mean for Amazon.

2. Russia has threatened to throttle Google thanks to prohibited content, local state media reported. A slowdown would follow Russia's throttling of Twitter, and comes after its government fined Google. More on Russia's crackdown here.
