Tecno Phantom V Fold might soon launch as the most affordable foldable phone in India

Tecno, which recently introduced the Phantom V Fold foldable smartphone at the Mobile World Congress 2023 in Barcelona, has revealed more details about the device’s India launch and availability.

Tecno has announced that its first foldable smartphone, the Tecno Phantom V Fold, will go on sale in India on April 11. The device competes with the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 that was launched in India last year.

Tecno Phantom V Fold to be produced in India

As part of the ‘Make in India’ initiative, Tecno has started producing its foldable phone, the Phantom V Fold, in its Noida factory. The factory is capable of producing 24 million smartphones per year at present.

Tecno Phantom V Fold sale date and early bird price

The Tecno Phantom V Fold will be launched in India on April 11 and will be available in an early access sale on April 12. During the early access sale, customers can purchase the smartphone at an early bird price of ₹77,777. According to the company, this price is applicable only for a limited period.

Tecno Phantom V Fold price in India

After the early access sale, the Phantom V Fold will be available in India at ₹89,999 for the 12GB RAM + 256GB internal storage variant and ₹99,999 for the 12GB RAM + 512GB internal storage variant.

Tecno Phantom V Fold specifications

The Tecno Phantom V Fold features a large 7.65-inch 2K+ LTPO AMOLED outer display with a 10-120Hz refresh rate and a 6.42-inch Full HD+ LTPO AMOLED outer display with a 10-120Hz refresh rate.

The Tecno Phantom V Fold uses a drop-shaped hinge, built using aerospace-grade material, with a fixed-axis rotate and slide technology. The company has claimed that this technology has made the device virtually crease-free. It has been tested to over 2,00,000 folds.

The device is equipped with the MediaTek Dimensity 9000+ chipset and comes in two variants – 12GB RAM + 256GB internal storage and 12GB RAM + 512GB internal storage.

Coming to the camera department, the Tecno Phantom V Fold features a triple camera setup at the back consisting of a 50MP primary camera, a 13MP ultra-wide-angle camera, and a 50MP telephoto lens.

For selfies, the device sports a 32MP selfie camera on the outer display and a 16MP selfie camera on the inner display.

A 5,000mAh battery with 45W fast charging support powers the device.
