Samsung is gearing up to launch the Galaxy S11 series next year. As we draw closer to the launch, reports say that Samsung is working on major camera improvements to take on the latest iPhones.

Galaxy S11 could sport a 108-megapixel camera

Samsung is all set to take the megapixel race to the next level with a new 108-megapixel camera in the Galaxy S11 series. While Xiaomi has already launched a smartphone with a 108-megapixel camera, the Galaxy S11 series is said to use a newer version of the sensor.

Although megapixels don’t always make for great photos, having a super high-resolution camera is a brute ay to simply have more pixel data to work with. This high-resolution camera coupled with a larger sensor should allow the Galaxy S11 series capture more data.

Other camera features in tow, too

According to a report by Bloomberg, the Galaxy S11 series will also feature a range of other camera features. These features include 5x optical zoom and a time-of-flight sensor that was seen on the Galaxy Note 10+ earlier this year. Apart from this, Samsung is also said to include three other cameras to assist the primary 108-megapixel camera.

Another report by a noted Dutch technology portal Lets Go Digital suggests that Samsung could use a special sensor for night photography. This comes at a time when low-light and night recording features have started gaining a lot of limelight.

5G support to be included as well

In addition to lining up a slew of camera features, Samsung is also said to include 5G support in the Galaxy S11 series. This gives Samsung a head start of a few months against Apple, especially since it is still not confirmed if the iPhone 12 will support 5G.
