Leaked poster reveals the Samsung Galaxy S22 series launch date

• Samsung’s first major event of the year is taking place next month.
• The company is yet to announce the launch date but a new leak has already revealed it.
• At this Galaxy Unpacked, the Galaxy S22 series and Galaxy Tab S8 series will be announced.

Samsung last week announced it would host its first ‘Galaxy Unpacked’ event of the year in February. The company teased the new ‘Galaxy S22’ saying that it will be the most ‘Noteworthy S’ series device ever. The launch date of Galaxy Unpacked is yet to be announced but a new leaked poster already reveals it.

The Galaxy Unpacked event will take place on February 9 according to the leaked poster shared by Evan Blass. The poster doesn’t reveal anything about the phone and it only has the tagline ‘The Epic Standard’. The event time is 15:00 pm but it isn’t confirmed which region it applies to.

Separately, a Reddit user shared a survey from Google’s Opinion Rewards where the question reveals not just the launch date but prices too. “The new Samsung S22 will launch on Feb 8th with 3 models - See $899, S22+ $1099, S22 Ultra $1299”, reads the survey. Going by the leaks there are only two weeks to the launch so we can expect Samsung to soon reveal the date along with more teasers.

As for the Galaxy Unpacked event, here’s what to expect.

Galaxy S22 series

The Galaxy S22 series will be the highlight of the event and this time too we’re expecting at least three phones — Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22 Plus and Galaxy S22 Ultra.

The Galaxy S22 Ultra is expected to feature a 6.8-inch 2X Dynamic AMOLED display with a 2K resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, and Gorilla Glass Victus+ protection. It will have a quad camera setup at the back with a 108MP primary camera, a 12MP ultra-wide camera and two 10MP telephoto sensors. For selfies, the Galaxy S22 Ultra is expected to house a 40MP front camera. It is also expected to pack a 5,000mAh battery with 45W wired fast charging and 15W wireless charging support.

The Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S22 Plus are expected to come with a similar set of specifications. Leaks suggest both phones will come with a glass back, 50MP primary camera, a 12MP ultrawide snapper and a 10MP telephoto camera. The Galaxy S22 could feature a 6.06-inch display, and a 3,800mAh battery with 25W fast charging support.

The Galaxy S22 will have a bigger 6.55-inch display, and also a larger 4,600mAh battery with 25W fast charging support. Both the phones will also have Gorilla Glass Victus+ for protection.

Galaxy Tab S8 series

Samsung is also launching the Galaxy Tab S8 series at this event. Based on leaks, there are three models in the tablet series including the Galaxy Tab S8, Galaxy Tab S8 Plus and Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra. All three tablets are expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset and launch with One UI based on Android 12.

The Galaxy Tab S8 will feature an 11-inch display, the Tab S8 Plus a 12.4-inch display, and the Tab S8 Ultra a 14.6-inch display.
