Qualcomm is expected to launch the Snapdragon 898 5G chipset which will be its next flagship chipset for smartphones.

The Snapdragon 898 launch is expected to take place during the Snapdragon Tech Summit that’s starting on November 30.

The Qualcomm Snapdragon 898 5G chipset is said to be built on Samsung’s 4nm process, and it’s expected to boost performance by up to 20 per cent.

This chipset is expected to feature an 8-core CPU with an AMR Cortex-X2 CPU core clocked at 3.0GHz, and three Cortex-A710 mid-cores clocked at 2.5GHz. It will also have four Cortex-A510 cores clocked at 1.79GHz.

The Snapdragon 898 chipset is expected to be equipped with the Qualcomm Adreno 730 GPU.

For 5G, Qualcomm could use the X65 5G modem which is claimed to offer 10 Gigabit speeds.

The Snapdragon 898 5G chipset reportedly got a single-core score of 1,300 and a multi-core score of 3,900 on Geekbench.

Rumours suggest the Xiaomi Mi 12 will be the first Snapdragon 898 powered smartphone, and it could launch by the end of this year.
