Google’s Pixel 6a was spotted on the FCC website ahead of its rumoured launch.- Pixel 6a could break its cover during Google I/O 2022 event in May.
- Google’s handsets are yet to be confirmed by the company.
Other leaks also suggested that the Google Pixel 6a could sport an 8MP selfie camera and 5000mAh battery. Google I/O is typically a software-focused event, but if the rumours are true Pixel 6a can make its debut during the event in May.
In the FCC listing, multiple Google phones were seen with model numbers G1AZG, GB62Z, GB17L, and GX7AS. We can expect that these smartphones can be part of Google’s Pixel 6a and 7. Based on the earlier FCC listing GX7AS is related to the Google Pixel 6a, all Google phones may offer connectivity like LTE, 5G, NFC, Wi-Fi 6E, and Bluetooth.
Google Pixel 6a also appeared in a Geekbench listing, hinting it can be powered by Google’s Tensor GS101 SoC. It is said to come with Android 12, and get a 12-megapixel secondary camera sensor. It can be launched in Green, Black, and White colour options.
Google Pixel 6a rival?
If the rumours are to be believed, then Pixel 6a can be a rival to the recently released iPhone SE. The iPhone is powered by an A15 Bionic processor with a dated design, which is where the Pixel may take a lead.
It will be exciting to see what Pixel 6a will offer and what it is going to cost. But if iPhone SE sees a price drop then it's going to be its biggest advantage over Google Pixel phones.
