Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold launched in India at ₹1,72,999, but you can’t get your hands on it right now

Google on Tuesday launched the Pixel 9 Pro series and also announced the launch of the Pixel 9 Pro Fold, the first foldable smartphone from the company to launch in India. The device is the company’s second-gen foldable smartphone.

The Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold is the successor of the Google Pixel Fold and has been launched alongside the Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro XL. Like its predecessor, the device comes with a fluid-friction hinge, which the company claims allows its device to be the thinnest foldable when it opens at 5.1 mm.

Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold price in India

The Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold is priced at ₹1,72,999 for the single 256GB variant launched in India. Google has not revealed when the device will go on sale in India and has said that it will be available later this year.

Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold specifications

The Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold runs on Android 14 out of the box and like other Pixel devices, will get seven years of Android and security updates.

The Pixel 9 Pro Fold features an 8-inch Quad HD+ Super Actua Flex OLED LTPO display with a 120Hz refresh rate and up to 2,700 nits brightness. The display comes with Ultra Thin Glass protection. On the outside, the device features a 6.3-inch Full HD+ Actua OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, up to 2,700 nits brightness and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection.

The Pixel 9 Pro Fold is powered by the company’s latest Tensor G4 chipset coupled with 16GB RAM and 256GB of internal storage. The device also comes in a 512GB variant but that has not been launched in India.

Coming to the camera department, the Pixel 9 Pro Fold features a triple camera setup at the back consisting of a 48MP primary camera with Sony IMX787 sensor, OIS, LDAF and a 10.5MP ultra-wide-angle camera with Samsung 3LU sensor and a 10.8MP 5x telephoto lens with Samsung 3J1 sensor. On the front, the device sports a 10.5MP selfie camera.

The device is powered by a 4.650mAh battery with wired and wireless charging support.
