Google recently launched the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro smartphones, the company’s flagship devices in India, making them the first flagship device from the company in India since 2018. While the search giant’s flagship devices were not launched in India, the company continued to launch mid-range devices such as the Pixel 6a.

After the Pixel 7 series launch, Pixel fans have been waiting for information about the company’s upcoming mid-range smartphone, which is expected to be dubbed the Pixel 7a.

While Google is yet to reveal a date for the Pixel 7a, it is expected to be launched in the first half of 2023, going by the launch of the company’s earlier smartphones. The Pixel 6a was launched in May 2022, and its successor may follow the same timeline.

Currently, there is no information about the Pixel 7a’s price. The device is expected to be priced similarly to its predecessor. The Google Pixel 6a was priced at ₹43,999 for the lone 6GB + 128GB variant.

Google Pixel 7a expected specifications

Some of the specifications of the Pixel 7a have been revealed by tipster Kuba Wojciechowski. According to the report, the device is expected to feature a 90Hz Full HD display from Samsung, an improvement over the predecessor’s 60Hz display, offering a higher refresh rate and a smooth user experience.

The device is reported to feature a dual camera setup at the back. It is expected to come with a 64MP Sony IMX787 sensor, a much-powerful replacement to the Pixel 6a’s IMX363 sensor. Additionally, the device is expected to feature a Sony IMX712 ultra-wide-angle sensor.

The tipster has also revealed that the Pixel 7a will feature wireless charging support; however, this will reportedly be limited to 5W.
