The Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro smartphones are all set to launch this month, with Google confirming the event, Pixel Fall Launch, for October 19. The launch announcement also suggests that this could be a Pixel-only event, which would be a change from the previous events when Google also launched other hardware. It is worth pointing out that Google has already announced the Pixel 5A and Pixel 6 earlier this year, but that was more like a teaser than a full reveal. Now, the Pixel 6 Pro will join the party on October 19, rounding up the troika of Pixel smartphones in 2021.
Google also seems to finally be going all-in on the Pixel smartphone range, as evidenced by the marketing it has been doing of late in certain markets. However, the bigger deal here is the Tensor chipset, Google’s first custom-designed chipset for its smartphones.
Here’s everything we know about the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro smartphones so far:

The official launch event is scheduled for October 19 at 10:30 p.m. India time, with the sales expected to commence from October 28. India-specific pricing and availability details are not known yet.
Google Tensor chipset, camera upgrades and more
The Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro smartphones will be powered by the Google Tensor octa-core chipset paired with up to 12GB of RAM. Some rumours suggest that the Pixel 6 Pro could offer as much as 512GB of storage, the highest in a Google smartphone so far.
The chipset and memory choice suggests that the Pixel 6 series could be an out-and-out flagship-grade one, instead of the mid-range hardware that Google has been offering of late. There’s more to suggest that these smartphones will be high-end offerings.

According to rumours, the Pixel 6 could sport a 6.4-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with 90Hz refresh rate, while the Pixel 6 Pro could sport a larger 6.71-inch pOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate. Both the smartphones will launch with Android 12 out of the box.
Google is also finally moving on from its old camera sensors. The Pixel 6 is expected to arrive with a 50MP primary camera with Samsung GN1 sensor and a 12MP ultrawide angle snapper with Sony IMX386 sensor, along with an 8MP front camera.
The Pixel 6 Pro is also said to feature the same 50MP and 12MP cameras, along with an additional 48MP telephoto camera with Sony IMX586 sensor. The front camera could be bumped up to a 12MP one.
Other expected features include an in-display fingerprint sensor, stereo speakers, 5G support, NFC and 33W fast charging.
