  • You can watch Peacock TV for free with the service's basic subscription, which still gives you thousands of hours of content.
  • With a free Peacock TV plan, you get access to the early seasons of "The Office," daily news and sports, Spanish-language shows from Telemundo, and more.
  • Watching Peacock TV for free means you'll have to sit through ads while watching — to get rid of ads, you'll have to upgrade your subscription.

Peacock TV is a streaming service from NBCUniversal. It allows you to watch content that's owned by the NBCUniversal conglomerate, as well as series and movies from other partner networks. This includes classics like "The Office," "Saturday Night Live," and "30 Rock." Peacock also offers original programming, such as "A.P. Bio" and the latest iteration of "Saved By the Bell."

If you sign up for a paid Peacock subscription, you'll get access to even more content. But the free tier still allows you to watch a wealth of NBC shows, movies, and original programming, albeit with frequent ads. This includes the first two seasons of "The Office."

Here's how to get started with a free Peacock account.

How to watch Peacock TV for free

1. To start, you have to sign up for Peacock. You can do so either with the desktop website, or by downloading the app onto your Android or iOS smartphone or streaming device.

2. When you sign up on the website, you'll be given the option to sign up with one of three subscription tiers. Click on the free option, on the left.

3. To sign up for free, you'll have to enter your email and create a password. Once you've done so, click "Create Account."

4. Once you've signed up, you'll be able to watch Peacock TV's free content. If the show or movie you want to watch has a feather icon in the upper-left corner, you will need to sign up for a paid subscription to watch it. Premium sign-up requires a credit card, though there's a free seven-day trial period.
