Dark mode reduces the user’s exposure to blue light that can affect the ability to sleep and also reduces battery consumption on smartphones, especially the ones with an AMOLED display. Dark mode also helps in reducing glare when you are using the device at night.
The latest versions of Android and iOS have introduced system-wide dark mode, making it easier for users to use their phones. In Android 10, apps that use the default system theme will automatically adopt dark mode once you turn it on. iOS also has a similar feature, inverting dark and light colours.
