If you're like about a billion other people, you probably use the wildly popular social media platform called TikTok to watch short-form videos to kill time throughout the day.

But those videos aren't limited to staying on TikTok; you can easily download your favorite videos to your phone or tablet, and the steps are the same whether you have an iOS or Android device.

How to download TikTok videos using the app

1. Start the TikTok app (iOS, Android) and find the video you want to download.

Note: If you're looking to track down a video that isn't in front of you on your For You Page or Following page, you can search on TikTok for specific words, users, or hashtags to locate a particular video.

2. Tap the Share icon on the right side of the screen. It's shaped like an arrow.

3. Tap Save video, if the option is available. Not all TikTok videos will have the feature.

Quick tip: You may need to allow TikTok access to your camera and photos applications to download videos. TikTok may notify and direct you to enable access to the apps to allow the download.

4. Tap Done or tap on the video itself to dismiss the Share window.

You can find the video in your device's camera roll or media gallery.
