How to cancel an iCloud storage plan in 3 ways and revert to the default storage or otherwise downgrade
Tech2 min read
  • To cancel your iCloud storage plan, you can head to the "Manage Storage" menu on your iPhone or iPad.
  • Both PC and Mac computers will let you cancel your iCloud storage plan as well.
  • You can also downgrade your iCloud plan instead of cancelling it.
  • Once you cancel or downgrade your iCloud storage plan, some iCloud services might stop working.

By default, Apple gives you 5 GB of iCloud storage space when you create an Apple ID account. If this isn't enough, you can upgrade it for a monthly fee.

But if you ever want to cancel this upgraded plan and go back to the free 5 GB of storage, you can do that from your mobile device, Mac, or Windows PC.

Be careful, though: If you backed up more than 5 GB of data while on the upgraded plan, and then cancel it, iCloud may stop working. You might need to delete content from iCloud to clear enough room so iCloud services work again.
