The Realme Watch 3 is a good option if you are looking for an affordable smartwatch that will enable you to track your health metrics and answer calls on the go without taking out your phone.

I have been using the Realme Watch 3 for a while now, and here’s my detailed review that will help you decide whether you should buy the Realme Watch 3 or not.

The Realme Watch 3 features a square design, just like its predecessor. It comes with a polycarbonate body with curved edges and silicone straps. It weighs 40 grams, so you don’t have to worry about the watch being too heavy or uncomfortable.

Coming to the straps, the watch comes with 22mm interchangeable silicone straps that are made using skin-friendly material. During my use, I found the straps comfortable, and there was no irritation.

The Realme Watch 3 features a 1.8-inch LCD with a 500 nits peak brightness and a 67.5% screen-to-body ratio. The watch comes with touch support and allows you easy operation.

The watch offers good brightness and allows you to change the brightness from 20% to 100%. During my usage, I could easily see the contents on the watch even under bright sunlight with maximum brightness enabled. You don’t have to worry about the brightness on the Realme Watch 3.

Realme Watch 3 features

The Realme Watch 3 despite being an affordable offering is packed with a host of features. It is equipped with a heart rate sensor, a blood oxygen saturation monitor, a sleep tracker and more.

The watch offers over 100 watch faces, offering you several options based on your preferences. It offers over 110 sports modes, allowing you to easily track your workouts and activities.

The Realme Watch 3 also offers sedentary and water reminders to help you stay active and hydrated throughout the day.

The watch allows you to monitor your heart rate, blood oxygen saturation (SpO2) levels, sleep and stress levels, among several other things. It is IP68 certified for water and dust resistance.

Realme Watch 3 calling performance

The Realme Watch 3 comes with Bluetooth calling support, allowing you to answer your calls without having to remove your phone. While I used the feature with low expectations, considering the price, the watch performed decently.

I tried calling and accepting calls on the watch for a day. While I was indoors, I was able to hear the other person easily on the speaker and the microphone also worked well as the other person was able to listen to me clearly.

However, when I tried the feature outdoors in some traffic, I struggled to listen to the other person on the speaker. Similarly, there was a lot of disturbance, and the microphone could not pick up my voice.

Overall, it’s a good feature if you wish to use this indoors. However, it is not a replacement for Bluetooth headphones, and you will find it difficult to use the voice-calling feature when you are outside your home.

Realme Watch 3 performance and battery life

The Realme Watch 3, despite being an affordable offering, performed decently during my testing.

The user interface is slightly different from what you may have seen on other watches. I noticed some lag while using the watch, which is something the company needs to work on.

Realme Watch 3 activity trackingSourabh Jain

I compared the steps and distance covered while I was out on a walk with another watch, and I noticed a variation of around 5 to 10%. While this is not a big deal, you must keep this in mind if you are looking for accurate tracking.

I also compared the watch’s heart rate monitoring and blood oxygen levels with a certified oximeter. Both of these were accurate, and the readings were similar. I felt the sleep tracking was also off by around 5 to 10%.

Coming to battery life, the Realme Watch 3 is equipped with a 340mAh battery that is claimed to offer up to 7 days of battery life. During my usage, with an hour of workout each day and 24 hours of heart rate tracking enabled, I could get a little over five days of battery life.

Realme Link app

Health information in the Realme Link appSourabh Jain

The Realme Link app allows you to control the watch and gives you a detailed view of the workouts and activities tracked by the Realme Watch 3.

The app offers a clean user interface and is easy to use. Linking the device is quite easy; all you need to do is log in and click on “Connect device”.

The app features a Health section that allows you to view your workouts, your heart rate tracking and other information such as sleep levels, stress, SpO2 levels and more.

Verdict

Overall, the Realme Watch 3 is a good option if you are looking for an affordable smartwatch. The watch is accurate enough for beginners looking to keep a track of their workouts. It offers all the basic features you may look for in a smartwatch such as heart rate tracking, SpO2 tracking, sleep monitoring and workout tracking.

However, if you are not okay with slight variations in workouts and health information, the Realme Watch 3 may not be the best option.
