  • The Apple Event 2020 is set to kick off tonight at 10:30 pm Indian Standard Time (IST).
  • The tech giant is expected to launch the new iPad Air, Apple Watch, and debut its latest product — Apple AirTags — tonight.
  • The company may also reportedly reveal more details about its upcoming operating system, the iOS 14.
The Silicon Valley tech giant Apple gears up to launch a host of products at its annual Apple Event tonight. The launch will be kicking off at 10:30 pm Indian Standard Time (IST).

At the second biggest show for Apple after WWDC 2020, the company`1 may also reveal more details about its upcoming operating systems — the iOS 14. However, it’s almost certain that a new iPhone will be missing from the line up.

What Apple fans are likely to see is the launch of the company’s very first Apple AirTags, new iPad Air 4, iPad 8, Apple Watch Series 6, and the Apple Watch SE. You catch the event live on the company’s official website, YouTube channel, or the Apple TV app.

Apple AirTags debut
AirTags is a new product that Apple’s been working to help users track lost items with their iPhone.

They’re tile-like Bluetooth trackers that can be attached to keys, wallets, or anything that a user commonly misplaces. The new accessories are likely to be integrated with Apple’s “Find My” mobile application.

The news about Apple’s AirTags comes after the tech giant added better location tracking to its latest iPhone. The iPhone 11’s U1 chip includes ultra-wideband technology, a short-range wireless communication protocol that helps smartphones better understand their surroundings.

A cheaper Apple Watch — and brand new Series 6
Fans are optimistic that not only will Apple unveil the new Apple Watch Series 6 but also an affordable variant of the device dubbed the Apple Watch SE.

The latest update of the Apple Watch is expected to come with a faster processor and a blood oxygen monitor amid the coronavirus pandemic.

According to the International Data Corporation (IDC), the company is already the leader in wearable devices, accounting for 32.2% of the market as of the second quarter of 2020.

New iPad 8 and iPad Air 4
The Cupertino-based company is also likely to announce the iPad Air 4th generation and the iPad 8th generation at the Apple Event 2020.

The iPad Air 4 will likely come with an A14 processor in three variants — 128 GB, 256 GB, and 512 GB — with a price tag starting at $649 (approximately ₹ 50,000).

The new iPad generation will be powered by the A12X processor, which is a little behind the times and continues to sport the lightning port.

No new iPhone
Unlike other Apple Events, this year, the company will not be launching a new iPhone. The disruption caused by the coronavirus pandemic threw Apple’s plans for the iPhone 12 off track.

The company’s CEO, Tim Cook, said there was likely to be a delay during the company’s earnings call. However, Apple fans may not have to wait long. Bloomberg reports that the delay will only be around a month, and the iPhone 12 could be on the shelves by October.
