In an quirk of fate, the coronavirus pandemic is giving enterprise technology vendors a moment to shine. Vendors have been talking about the digitization of business for years - that is, taking manual processes and making them digital or virtual.

Now major corporations worldwide are forced to have all employees work from home in order to practice social distancing and help stem the spread of COVID-19, the coronavirus disease. And the star of the show has become the technology that allows them to do so.

Tech companies say that their customers are calling them up and asking them how to keep business going when the workforce is entirely remote. Their answer is to let companies try their wares for free for a time.
