Google Pay may soon get a feature that will suggest you the best card for online payments

At Google I/O 2022, Google’s annual developer’s conference, the company announced a bunch of new features to Google Pay and a revival of Google Wallet.

According to the company, using a Google Wallet, users can connect their credit cards and simply tap on devices to make payments. It will also allow users to store, digital ID cards, credit cards, vaccination cards and more.

Google is also aiming to improve the Google Pay experience for users by adding a potential feature that will show you which credit cards have the best rewards for your purchase.

Back in 2020, Google made some major changes to Google Pay with a money management approach that allowed users to track incoming and outgoing transactions.

What’s new in Google Pay?
During the Google Pay session at I/O, the Product Lead for Google Pay, Rajiv Apana introduced new features including prominent security across the Google Pay ecosystem.

Apana claimed Google Pay will be able to choose among the credit cards and find the one that offers the best rewards for purchase. He said, “in the future, we will look to provide even more helpful information about the card benefits such as points, cashback, and purchase predictions, so our users can make the best choice when they are checking out.”

During the session, Apana also highlighted the upcoming security feature, Virtual cards. It is focused on enhanced security and privacy by replacing actual cards with virtual one that will protect the users from fraudulent websites. Additionally, just like the auto-fill form, the checkout form will be automatically filled, saving the hassle to input card details.

Google Pay is currently available in more than 40 countries and soon we hope Indian users will use these upcoming features. The virtual cards feature will be available in the US with MasterCard, Visa, and American Express sometime in the future.
