Twitter advises against downloading an update that is crashing the app

Usually when an app rolls out an update, it informs its users to update to the latest version to be able to use new features. However, that’s not the case with Twitter as it is advising its Android users to avoid updating the app.Twitter started rolling out the 8.28 version of its app on the Google Play Store earlier today. Users who updated their apps reported that the app started crashing after the update. Twitter Support acknowledged the issue and advised users against updating the app.
What to do if you have already updated
If you have already updated the app and are not able to use the app, you can solve this issue by following the steps below:
- On your phone, go to ‘Settings’ and tap on ‘Apps’.
- Now, look for Twitter and tap on it.
- Now, go to ‘Storage and Cache’ and click on ‘Clear Storage’ and ‘Clear Cache’.

- Open Play Store on your device and search Twitter.
- Now, open the listing and tap the overflow button (three dots) at the top right corner.
- Then, uncheck the ‘Enable auto-update’ option.
