Truecaller has announced the launch of call recording for its Android and iOS applications, allowing users to record their voice calls easily. The company had removed the call recording feature last year due to an API issue with Google.

In addition to bringing back call recording for Android devices, it also introduced the feature for iOS devices.

The call recording feature will record the call on both sides and the other person will be informed that you are recording the call with a beep sound.

It is to be noted that the feature is limited to only premium subscribers and is currently available only in the US. It’s expected to roll out to other countries soon.

Call recording on Android devices

Call recording is comparatively easier on Android devices. There are two ways you can record calls on Android devices using Truecaller –

If you have set Truecaller as your default dialer, all you have to do is enable call recording on your device and the app will automatically record every call.

However, if you are using a different dialer, you will have to tap on the floating Truecaller bubble each time you wish to record a call.

Call recording on an iPhone

Recording a call on an iPhone is slightly more complicated.

You will have to call a special recording line each time you wish to record a call and then merge the two calls to start recording.

For outgoing calls, you need to first start a call with the recording line using the Truecaller app then call the person you wish to talk to and then merge the two calls.

Call transcripts

In addition to recording the call for future playback, the app will also create transcriptions of the call using artificial intelligence (AI). This will allow you to quickly view the summaries of a call and find important data.
