  • Instagram now allows you to multitask as you DM among friends.
  • Music sharing, silent notifications, and polls are also coming.
  • Six features and updates on Instagram.
Instagram has rolled out a new update, which makes it easier to chat while you browse your feed. This new multitasking feature will allow you to quickly respond to incoming messages without switching between feeds and inbox. Additionally, new chats will appear at the top of the feed and you can reply back by tapping on the message. Instagram is also adding a shortcut that will allow you to share posts a little quicker.

Ever since the merging of Messenger and Instagram, Instagram’s chat is getting more features. Here are all the new features coming to Instagram.

Create a poll among friends
Instagram will allow users to create a poll directly within a group chat.

Lo-fi chat
To make the conversation feel more personal, Instagram is bringing a new lo-fi chat theme.

Reply while you browse feeds
This feature will enable users to respond to messages while they browsing the feed. The user won't lose a track of the post while replying to the message. While responding to a message it will blur the post in the background and the message will appear on top of the window while the message bar will appear at the bottom for users to respond.

Play, pause, and re-play
With the new update, users can share a 30-second preview of a song with friends within the chat. It will be powered by Amazon Music, Apple Music, and soon will be Spotify.

Send messages quietly
Just like Slack, users will be able to send messages without notifying them when they are busy. All you have to do is type “@silent” in messages. Meta is also bringing this similar feature to Messenger.

See who’s online
This update will show who is free to chat at the top of the user inbox.

Instagram says the new features will be available in selected countries and soon they will be available to users across the globe soon.
