Instagram has added SloMo, Echo and Duo effects to Boomerang.- Users will also be able to use a new trimming feature for Boomerangs.
Instagram also added a much-awaited feature – trimming. This allows users to decide where the animation loop starts and stops. Snapchat has had some of these effects from a long time and TikTok, which has become popular in the last two years also offers various effects in its app.
How do the new effects work
The three new effects announced by Instagram can be found while creating a Boomerang.
- SloMo: This effect will reduce the Boomerangs to half-speed to capture more detail.
- Echo: This adds a motion blur effect so that a trail appears behind anything that is moving, creating a double vision effect.
- Duo: This effect speeds up and slows down the Boomerang at the same time, adding a textured effect.
To use the new effects, make a Boomerang as usual. You can add these effects once you have made the Boomerang.
- Open Instagram and tap the Story button.
- Now, swipe and go to the Boomerang option and create a video.
- Now, an infinity symbol will appear at the top right corner.
- Click the “Infinity” button to ‘Trim and tweak’ your Boomerang.
