How to send doodle messages on Google Duo

Google Duo is a video calling app that has over a billion downloads, making it one of the most popular apps in the world. Google has been updating it with new features over the last few months, and the latest in this list is the ability to send doodle messages to your contacts.

The latest update to Google Duo lets you send doodle messages and notes to your contacts on the service. These messages are temporary – they vanish after 24 hours. Prior to this, Google Duo allowed you to send only voice and video messages.

How to send doodle messages on Google Duo

Sending doodle messages, notes and more on Google Duo is easy, follow these simple steps:

• Make sure you have the latest update of Google Duo installed.
  
• Tap on the contact you want to send the message to.
  
• On the calling page, you will find three options – voice call, video call and message. Tap on Message.
  
• Now, there will be three options – voice, video and note. Tap on Note.
  
• On the Note page, you can either type your message or give it a personal touch by doodling.
  
• To send a doodle, tap on the ‘Doodle’ icon on the top right.
  
• You can customize your doodle using a range of colours. Once done, tap on Next.
  
• Preview your message and customize the background by tapping on the Paint icon next to the send button.
  
• Once you’re done, tap on the send button.
  

That’s it. You can see all the notes and doodles on the contact screen. If you wish, you can also delete a note before it expires by long-pressing on it and tapping on “delete”.
