How to save WhatsApp chats

Popular messaging app WhatsApp has over 1.5 billion monthly active users and plays an important role in our daily communication. In addition to personal use, the Facebook-owned messaging service is also used by companies and other offices to exchange important information.
Some WhatsApp messages can be crucial and losing them might cause users’ problems. However, WhatsApp has a feature that allows you to save your chat history and export it. You should note that it’s not a one-and-done kind of deal. It’s a tedious process that requires you to export each chat individually.
How to save WhatsApp chats
WhatsApp recently announced that it will end support for all Android smartphones running on 2.3.7 and older versions and iPhones running on iOS 8 and older versions after February 1, 2020. If you have a device that runs on any of the above-mentioned platforms, it is recommended that you export your chats before February 1, 2020.

How to save WhatsApp chats
- Open WhatsApp on your phone.
- Tap the overflow button (three dots) at the top right corner.
- Click on ‘More’ to show more options.
- On the expanded menu, click on ‘Export Chat’.
- You can select if you want to include media or not while exporting the chat. Exporting media would use more data.
- Please note that you can send 40,000 messages if you do not include media and 10,000 messages if you include media.
- Once you select an option, WhatsApp will ask you to choose an option to share the chat.
- Click on Gmail and enter your own email address in the recipient section.
