When it comes to smartphones, the display size has increased significantly over the last few years. It has become hard to get a small display phone as a result, with only a few companies rarely launching a small phone. Big displays make sense when you want to watch videos, but some might find them difficult to use.
However, if you are looking for a smartphone with a small-size display, we have curated a list of the best smartphones in India that you can buy in 2022.

How we do our research

Our ranking criteria

We consider each smartphone’s features, including specifications, budget, display out, screen size, ergonomics, battery life, storage space, camera quality and client review, also, most of the listed devices are reviewed by our team members.

Things to look for while buying

Build quality

Usually, the handsets are made of metal and plastic. There are even some phones that have glass-coated panels, but those are very limited. If you are one of those prone to dropping your smartphone, it's advisable to go for a metal or a plastic built handset.

Chipset

If you are a heavy user who needs to edit images, play heavy games, stream videos or often uses apps in split-screen mode, then smartphones with Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 or Snapdragon 820/821 are worth considering. If you are a light user then you can go for MediaTek processors.

Camera

Remember, having a higher number of megapixels is not enough. Several other specifications such as camera aperture, ISO levels, pixel size, autofocus and more are essential.
The higher number of pixels means that the size of the image is bigger, which becomes sharper when seen on a small screen. If you are a photographer enthusiast then go for a 12 or 16MP sensor which shoots well in low lights. If you are a casual shooter then you can go with an 8MP or 12MP camera.

Battery

The battery usage differs from user to user depending on how they use the smartphones. If you are a heavy user and, play games, stream videos and more then go for a smartphone with at least a 3500mAh battery or above. If you are an average or light user, a handset with a 3000mAh battery would be good enough for a day.
Today, there are also headsets available with 4000 to 5000 mAh battery power.
