Kicked out of finals
The fate of the match was sealed with M S Dhoni’s runout in the 49th over after a magnificent 50 runs off 72 balls! But the 239 total set by New Zealand was too tough to chase.
India were at 92 runs with 6 wickets down and looking down the barrel before Jadeja joined Dhoni and raised hopes of a possible win in the nail-biting match. In the end, their partnership of 116 runs was the highest in the history of World Cup for the seventh wicket.

Second semi-final loses buzz
The World Cup matches lost their sheen after India’s exit. The road that leads to the pavilion at the Edgbaston Cricket Stadium wore an almost deserted look as hosts England and Australia clashed in the second semi-final of the 2019 World Cup on Thursday.
All the Indians who had booked tickets to check who would qualify and play India, are no longer interested in the outcome of this game.
