In a bid to restructure its workforce, India’s largest IT services firm Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) might hand out pink slips to some of the employees.

“The restructuring exercise could affect both onsite and offsite positions across various verticals, even as the company said it is on track to meet hiring target of 55,000 professionals this fiscal,” sources told PTI.

The source further added that restructuring would have an impact on middle-to-senior level positions. It’s worth noting that TCS employs over 3 lakh people in 46 countries spread across the globe. The company has an annual turnover of more than $13 billion.

After a gross employee addition of over 20,000 people, the Mumbai-headquartered company had a total headcount of 3,13,757 at the end of second quarter of current fiscal that ended on September 30, 2014.
