A day after Cyrus Mistry’s damaging e-mail tore through Tatas most legacy deals, Tata Sons hit back at the ousted Chairman, saying all the claims made by Mistry were unsubstantiated.

Tata Sons, in an e-mail, took on Mistry’s claims and said the group will reply in an appropriate manner.

Tata Sons said Mistry was fully empowered as the executive chairman and the Directors reportedly raised concerns and queries on business issues.

“Mistry had full autonomy.

“Mistry’s mail is unforgivable. Unfortunate allegations have been made after Mistry’s removal. It is unfortunate that most confidential information was made public. Mistry lost confidence of all the board directors,” stated Tata Sons.

Tata Sons stated that Mistry has made malicious allegations and his actions deviated from Tatas ethos.

The company said the public spat is beneath us. “It is unforgivable that Mistry has attempted to beseech the image of the group. We will not run away from problems, will firmly deal with them. When records will be made public, they will take on every claim made by Mistry,” stated Tata Sons.

Tata Sons replies come after Mistry, in a strong-worded e-mail, claimed he was just a ‘lame duck’ chairman.
