Tata Motors Sales Jump By 10% In December

Tata Motors has reported a jump of 10% in its sales in the month of December. The company sold 41,734 units in the month as compared to 37,836 units in the corresponding month in 2013.

Tata Motors said that the domestic sale of Tata commercial and passenger vehicles surged by 8%. It sold 37,776 units against 35,010 units in December 2013. The sale of passenger vehicles in the Indian market was 12,040 units, which is an increase of 30% from 9,272 units in December 2013.

However, the sales of commercial vehicles were comparatively much lower. “In the commercial vehicles segment, domestic sales remained flat at 25,736 units during the month,” the company said.

The company exported 3,958 units as compared to 2,826 units in the corresponding month in 2013, which is an increase of 40%.
