Tampa Bay Buccaneers take Jameis Winston with the No. 1 pick in the NFL Draft
It's an expected move. Winston has been the consensus No. 1 pick since the NFL Combine in February, and all the experts had him going to Tampa in their mock drafts.
Winston went No. 1 despite off-field issues that many initially believed would hurt his draft stock.
He was accused of sexual assault but never charged in 2013. He now faces a civil suit from the same accuser.
On the field, Winston is widely considered the best pocket passer in the draft. He won the national championship and Heisman Trophy in 2013-14. Despite a relatively less productive 2014-15 season, Winston blew away NFL scouts at the Combine and solidified his hold on the No. 1 pick weeks before the trade.
He's the first quarterback to go No. 1 since Andrew Luck in 2012.
