Tamo RaceMo, the two-seater sports coupe from Tata Motors unveiled

Tata Motors has unveiled its most ambitious two-seater sports coupe, called Tamo RaceMo on the first day of the 87th Geneva International Motor Show being held in Switzerland.

RaceMo, a production ready sports car, will hit the Indian roads in the second half of next year.

It has been designed at the Tata Motors Design Studio in Turin, Italy and aims to deliver both high performance and practicality. It comes with a power of 190 PS and a maximum torque of 210 Nm, and is backed by 1.2L Revotron Turbocharged, Intercooled Gasoline Engine.

The latest sports car can accelerate from 0-100 kmph in just under 6 seconds, and has been made keeping in mind integrated crash safety protection, with driver and passenger airbags.

TAMO, the sub-brand of Tata Motors has been launched for new technologies, business models and partnerships, and ' RaceMo' is its first product.

"Symbolising the change that is taking place at Tata Motors, 'RaceMo' is the proving ground of the TAMO family of vehicles and will drive the future of India's connected generation. From styling and design to driver experience and technology, RaceMo is an extension of customers' personality, as part of their digital ecosystem and will break the ice with a radical new presence and pique the interest in the parent brand," Guenter Butschek, CEO & MD, Tata Motors told ET.

"Meant for the risk-taking, adventure loving, digitally native, mobile first technophiles of India, the RaceMo is also India's first connected car. It will bring alive connected car features such as advanced navigation, predictive maintenance, remote monitoring and over-the-air updates using Microsoft cloud-based technologies including advanced analytics, internof thing (IoT) and machine learning powered by Microsoft Azure," the company said in a statement.
