The Canadian college student who made headlines after live-streaming his suicide attempt to 200 4chan users last month has been charged with arson and disregard for human life, CTV News reports.

The 21-year-old male identified in the video is a student at the University of Guelph, where he caused major damage to a university dormitory after he lit himself on fire in an apparent suicide attempt. According to CTV News, the fire caused thousands of dollars in damage and 30 students had to be temporarily relocated.

The student suffered serious burns from the fire, although they are not life-threatening.

In a live feed hosted on video chat website Chateen, the student reportedly consumed a combination of vodka and unidentified pills and used his toaster to start a small fire in the room. According to the Daily Dot, the student appears to catch on fire in the video before being rescued by a group of firemen.
