Stephen Colbert acted out a sweet dream with the help of Liam Neeson on Tuesday night's "Late Show."

He imagined what a movie based on the game app Candy Crush Saga would look like. Why? Activision Blizzard announced it had created a movie and TV studio to create projects based on its properties. And the low-hanging fruit for Colbert was its recent $5.9 billion acquisition of King, the company that makes Candy Crush.

In Candy Crush, players try to match candy in different combinations to move through levels.

CBS

In Colbert's version of the movie, he plays a son whose father is dying after being pierced by a candy cane. The dad's trying to relay his last words, but he's interrupted as his son can't stop playing the game.

"Son, I had a good life," Neeson said in his starring role as the father. "I spent my best years crushing candy. And, yes, as I crushed, I would sometimes think, 'This is such a huge waste of time. I could be reading a book or anything, but I kept on going."

But Colbert may never know what Neeson really wanted to say, because just before his last word the game asked for a small fee to continue: "99 cents? Hm, I don't think so."
