#Startup India:Ola Cabs’ Bhavish Aggarwal is conscious that security is a concern, more measures need to be taken
Bhavish Aggarwal, the CEO and co-founder of home-grown taxi aggregator, Ola Cabs, feels that the startups have to continuously devise new ways to gain more customers for their companies. And this includes addressing the first and foremost issue of customer safety as far as the transport segment.
“The industry has to work on the safety issues of the passengers. Companies need to weed out drivers who dont drive well or have got poor ratings from the customers,” says the 28 year old entrepreneur who founded Ola Cabs along with Ankit Bhati in 2011.
He also added that for the industry he operates in, “trust and safety are key for our industry, we have to keep improving tech, design, compliance”.
Talking about reliance on technology, he said that industries in the high tech sector are not about commodity products.
Besides, he notes that in the initial stages, a company which has a robust product or service, the first few customers will come on their own. “It might take some time because you’ll not have a marketing budget to accelerate growth,” points out Bhavish.
On the challenges that players in the transport sector face, he notes that the biggest challenge continues to be the availability of skilled manpower. After all, licensed drivers with clean backgrounds is what ensures the success for the likes of Ola Cabs.
