Addressing entrepreneurs and bigwigs from the Silicon Valley, Modi said success of entrepreneurs depends on the ability to take risks. The prime miinster said entrepreneurs have risk taking capacity, they are adventurous and they have compassion.
“Sometimes, I wish god had given me capabilities like you people have. While listening to Ritesh (OYO Rooms founder), I wondered why a tea seller could not think of starting a hotel chain,” Modi told the gathering at Startup India event.
Modi also said people launching their startups have a motive beyond money and fame, and they want to leave a legacy behind and do something for the country.
“You should initiate with a thinking of doing something and not focussing only on money. Money will follow,” said Modi.
He also said that majority of the startups are focussed on IT. Modi said entrepreneurs should think beyond IT and provide to every sector in the country, be it handicrafts or anything.
“I get to hear so many ideas from the youth. I will share your success stories, it will go viral. The environment of negativity has gone, it is passé now,” said Modi.
Speaking about
“The kind of innovation we are experiencing today is one of a kind. When we speak about Make in India, it also stands for Make for India. We want people to become foolproof and we want to provide people with systems to enable to the entire country. We have to change the ideology of the youth from job seeker to job creator,” said Modi.
The prime minister also said that quality education and infrastructure was the need of the hour so that even the last man staying in India benefits from it.
Modi spoke about affordability and challenges.
“Health sector is dependent on technology than the doctors. In a country like India, this should be affordable too, which is a challenge among us,” said Modi.
The prime minister also said he is confident about the youth of the country that they would bring a change in India and lead from the front.
“India has millions of millions of problems but at the same time I know we have billions of billions of minds in the country. Every startup should have a problem solving ideology, which will also bring satisfaction among the youth. “Entrepreneurs should think about changing lives of people and taking India forward,” said Modi.
