The duo made history by being the closest India has ever been to a medal in archery at the Olympics. Dheeraj and Ankita were up against Brady Ellison and Casey Kaufhold of the USA in the bronze medal match but lost 6-2 and had to quit the race for the medal.
Indian shooter Arjun Babuta narrowly missed a podium spot in the men's 10m air rifle final at the Olympics. He scored 208.4 which was only 1.4 points less than his opponent, Miran Maricic who scored 209.8.

Manu Bhaker opened India’s account by winning a bronze medal in women’s 10m air pistol on 28th July, 2024 and later, on 30th July she added another bronze in 10m air pistol mixed team events. Unfortunately, she finished 4th in the 25m pistol final losing the medal just by a close margin.

Lakshya Sen was on course to become the first male shuttler of India to win a medal in the Olympics but all hopes were shattered after his defeat to Denmark’s Victor Axelsen in the semi-final and then to Lee Zii Jia of Malaysia.

After putting up a great fight against China’s Jiang Yiting and Lyu Jianlin, Maheshwari Chauhan and Anantjeet Singh had to settle for the fourth spot in the skeet mixed team shooting event. This event was the final shooting event of the Paris Olympics and India closed its tally with 3 medals in the competition.

Although Mirabai broke the jinx and lifted 85 Kg in her first attempt, and 88 Kg in her final attempt she was just shy of 1 kg from making it to the podium and claiming bronze. This happened due to the surprising snatch by Romania’s Cambei with a brilliant final lift of 93 kg.
