Indian cricket will have an eventful calendar in 2023, with the players gearing up for a busy year ahead, packed with a long list of matches. The Future Tour Programs (FTP) schedule shows the complete list of matches the Indian team will play on home soil and abroad.

Sri Lanka tour of India, January 2023

The year’s first series will be a limited overs tour in January 2023, with Sri Lanka touring India. Both the teams will battle in three T20Is and three ODIs.

New Zealand tour of India, January 2023



After Sri Lanka, India will host New Zealand for a limited overs series comprising three ODIs and three T20Is. This will take place in January as well.

Australia tour of India, January – February 2023



Australia will tour India in 2023 for the ICC men’s Test World Championship 2021-2023. As of now, the host, India is at the fourth spot, while Australia is at the top spot. Both teams will play three ODI matches and four Test matches in India.

Indian Premier League (IPL), March – June, 2023



After the Sri Lanka series will be over, the BCCI plans to schedule the Indian Premier League in India. IPL 2023 is expected to start in March and end in June 2023. Now that two more franchises are added to the portfolio, cricket fans are waiting to see a lot more action in IPL. This is the first time since Covid-19 that IPL 2023 will witness the return of home-and-away fixtures. Following the auction, the IPL tournament is likely to witness a shuffling of players.

Asia Cup 2023, September



Following the list of bilateral series and IPL matches, the Indian team will tour Pakistan or UAE to play in the ICC Asia Cup 2023 between August and September 2023. This will be a very long series since all the Asian countries are expected to participate.

Before the start of the World Cup in October 2023, Australia will tour India for a three-match ODI series in September.

ICC Cricket World Cup 2023



Of course the World Cup is part of Indian cricket’s 2023 schedule. This year, India will host the ICC Cricket World Cup. The World Cup will last from October to November 2022. India last won the World Cup in 2011.

Australia tour of India, November-December 2023



Australia’s third and final tour of India in 2023 will be a five-match T20I series. It will take place after the World Cup, beginning in November and spreading to December.

India tour of South Africa, December 2023 - January 2024



In the final series of the year, India will play a multi-format series against South Africa. This is an away series i.e. India will be flying to South Africa for it. The teams will battle it out in two Test matches, three ODIs and three T20Is.
