Much awaited IPL Debut
Having joined Mumbai Indians two years ago, 23-year-old Arjun Tendulkar made his IPL debut with the Mumbai Indians against Kolkata Knight Riders at Wankhade Stadium in Mumbai on Sunday, April 16.
Chose to bowl
Arjun Tendulkar is a fast bowler, while his father Sachin Tendulkar was a top order batsman with a right hand batting style.
Performance in debut
In the very first over he bowled, Arjun conceded four runs, after which he conceded 13 runs in the second over in the PowerPlay. Mumbai Indians defeated KKR by five wickets and 14 balls in the IPL match on Sunday.
Played no match in 2022
Mumbai Indians bought Arjun Tendulkar for ₹30 lakh in 2022 IPL auction. He was a part of the squad, but did not play any matches. MI retained Arjun in the mini-auction of 2023, as per an ANI report.
Move to Goa in 2022
Arjun started his career with Mumbai as a fast bowler but moved to Goa to get a better opportunity. Before making this shift, he had represented Mumbai in only two T20 matches.

In nine T20s, Arjun has scored 20 runs in five innings with a best score of 15. He has 12 wickets in the format at an average of 16.50 and an economy rate of 6.60. His best bowling figures are 4/10 in the T20, says an ANI report.

Sachin Tedulkar proudly witnessed his son’s debut live. In his tweet he said, “I know you will continue to give the game the respect it deserves and the game will love you back.”
Training and educational background
Arjun Tendulkar underwent a boot camp-like 2-week training in September 2022 with former fast, medium bowler Yograj Singh in Chandigarh. He was also mentored by former fast bowler Subroto Banerjee and certified coach Atul Gaikwad.
Journey till here
Arjun made his Under-19 debut in 2018 against Sri Lanka. He made his T20 debut in January 2021 against the Haryana team in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. His auction price in 2021 by Mumbai Indians was ₹20 lakh.
Legacy left before him
Arjuna and Padma Shree awardee, Sachin Tendulkar, known as the ‘God of Cricket’ leaves behind a vast legacy for his son. He has the highest number of centuries and fifties, as well as the highest number of the Man of the Match awards amongst many other records.
