In May 2024, Forbes released its annual ranking of the world's highest-paid athletes, revealing the total salaries of sports' biggest stars.
The top 10 earners — all male — come from seven countries, play four sports, and have a combined income of over $1 billion thanks to their efforts on and off their respective fields, courts, courses, and pitches.
Forbes calculated players' incomes from May 1, 2023, to May 1, 2024. The publication reported that on-field earnings included factors like prize money, salaries, and bonuses, while off-field earnings included things like sponsorship deals, licensing income, and memorabilia. Taxes and agents' fees were not deducted from any player's income.
As the sports industry continues to reach new heights, here are 2024's 10 highest-paid athletes.
