  • Simone Biles won the all-around gold medal in women's gymnastics at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
  • She wore a diamond goat necklace to the medal ceremony designed by Janet Heller Fine Jewelry.

Simone Biles embraced her status as the "greatest of all time," or "GOAT," with a custom necklace at her medal ceremony at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

After winning a gold medal at the women's gymnastics all-around final on Thursday — her ninth Olympic medal — Biles stood atop the podium wearing a necklace with a diamond goat pendant.

Janet Heller Fine Jewelry shared in an Instagram post that Biles commissioned the three-dimensional goat necklace, which is encrusted with 546 diamonds, as well as an Olympic ring necklace.

Her celebratory diamond necklace is almost certainly worth more than the gold medal itself, which is estimated to be worth $950. Janet Heller Fine Jewelry did not immediately respond to an inquiry about the value of the designs.

Biles, who is the most decorated US gymnast of all time, has previously worn leotards emblazoned with a rhinestone goat at other competitions. In 2021, she told Marie Claire magazine that it was a way to "hit back at the haters" and send the message that "it's OK to acknowledge that you're good or even great at something."

Jeanne Diaz, the lead designer at Team USA's leotard manufacturer GK Elite, told Business Insider that Biles didn't have a goat on her leotards in Paris because Olympic team leotards don't include any additional logos or personalized imagery.

"When Simone has had the goat on her leotard in the past, it was for competitions where she was representing her club, not representing the USA, so that's why she was able to have that extra customization that was personal to her," Diaz said.

After withdrawing from gymnastics events in the Tokyo Olympics in 2021 due to mental health struggles and a case of the "twisties," Biles' mental health advocacy, unparalleled skill, and Olympic medal count have cemented her as the "GOAT" in her sport.

With a net worth that includes her Olympic medal winnings and numerous brand deals and endorsements, she can afford to celebrate it, too.
