Boland’s figures in his Test debut, 7 for 55, are the best by any debutante at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) since Test matches were born in 1877 in that famed ground.

Boland picked up the third-fastest five-wicket haul in the history of test cricket in just 19 balls. The previous two records are held by England’s Stuart Broad and Australia’s Ernie Toshack.
