Rahul Dravid, Indian cricketing legend and current head of National Cricket Academy (NCA), has been reportedly selected as the coach of the Indian cricket team for its one-day tour of Sri Lanka in July.
News agency ANI reported, quoting a BCCI official, that Dravid will be heading the team as head coach Ravi Shastri will be in the UK with the test team for the World Test Championship.
This will be Dravid’s second innings with the national team, in a coaching role, after working as a batting consultant on India’s tour of England in 2014.
"The Team India coaching staff will be in the UK and it is best that the young team is guided by Dravid as he has already worked with almost all of the India 'A' boys. The comfort the youngsters share with him will be an added advantage," the official told ANI.
