Meet the Indian squad for the Women’s World Cup 2022, Mithali Raj to lead the pack

- The BCCI announced the Indian squad for ICC Women’s World Cup 2022 in New Zealand.
- Mithali Raj will be the captain followed by Harmanpreet Kaur as the vice-captain of the Indian squad.
- The squad will also feature in the 5-match ODI series against New Zealand starting from 11th February, 2022.

The All India Women’s Selection Committee of Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), on Thursday, picked the squad for the ICC Women’s World Cup 2022 in New Zealand. Mithali Raj will be the captain followed by Harmanpreet Kaur as the vice-captain of the Indian squad.Team India will play their first World Cup fixture against Pakistan on 6 March, 2022 at the Bay Oval, Tauranga. The Indian team will play 7 matches in the round-robin format before the knockout stages of the tournament.
The squad will also feature in the 5-match ODI series against New Zealand starting from 11th February, 2022.
Fast bowler Shikha Pandey and in-form batter Jemimah Rodrigues will remain absent from the squad.

Captain of the Indian squad, Raj is one of the greatest female batters of India. The 39-year old player has a career tally of 7,391 runs in 220 one day international (ODI) matches with an average of 51.32.
2. Harmanpreet Kaur
Vice-captain of the Indian team, Kaur made her ODI debut in 2009 and has hammered 2,568 runs in 107 matches with a strike rate of 69.36.
3.Smriti Mandhana
Opening batter in the Indian squad, Mandhana was named as the Best Women's International Cricketer in June 2018 by BCCI. She has a record of 2,377 runs in 62 World ODI matches with an average of 41.70.

Opening right-handed batter, who made her ODI debut in 2021, has so far only played 6 ODI matches and scored 164 runs with a strike rate of 73.87.5. Yastika Bhatia

6.Deepti Sharma
The 24-year-old all rounder, who hails from Agra, Uttar Pradesh, had whipped 1,604 runs in 64 ODI matches with a strike rate of 64.08.
7. Richa Ghosh
18-year-old wicketkeeper of India, who made her ODI debut in 2020, has scored 76 runs in 3 matches with an average of 38.

8. Sneh Rana
Right-arm off break bowler from Dehradun has so far taken 10 wickets in 11 ODI matches with a strike rate of 52.8.
9. Jhulan Goswami
One of the fastest bowlers in women's cricket, Goswami has an excellent track record of 240 wickets in 192 matches with an average of 21.59.
10. Pooja Vastrakar
22-year-old medium style bowler, Vastrakar, who made her ODI debut in 2018, has so far taken 4 wickets in 10 ODI matches with a strike rate of 81.

11.Meghna SinghRight-arm medium style bowler and right-handed batter, Singh has a tally of 1 wicket and 3 runs from 3 ODI matches.
12. Renuka Singh Thakur
The 25-year-old medium fast bowler made her debut in 2021 in T20I, is all set to make an opening in the upcoming World Cup 2022.
13. Taniya Bhatia
Wicketkeeper batter of the Indian team, Bhatia has so far scored 130 runs in 18 ODI matches with an average of 16.25.
