  • Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott is one of the most talented players in the NFL.
  • The 30-year-old Louisiana native has made a considerable fortune playing the sport he loves.

Dak Prescott is arguably the most important player on the most popular team in the most popular sport in the country.

And he's somehow managed to thrive in one of the most difficult and scrutinized roles out there.

The 30-year-old Louisiana native is the quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys — a team so beloved across the United States that it's been dubbed "America's Team." When he's been healthy, Prescott has thrived under center in The Lone Star State; he's twice earned Pro Bowl nods and was named NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year in 2016.

All of his success on the field has led to incredible financial gains for the Mississippi State alum. He's signed mammoth NFL contracts, inked lucrative endorsement deals, and made investments in promising companies.

Prescott has used some of his millions to live a life of luxury. He owns a sprawling estate not far from the Cowboys' home stadium, parks a collection of speedy cars in his garage, and splurges on luxurious vacations when he's not leaving it all out on the field. He's also made it a priority to give back.

Here's how Prescott makes and spends his millions:

With longtime franchise quarterback Tony Romo preparing to ride off into the sunset, Dallas was ready to draft its next big star during the 2016 NFL Draft. Though the Cowboys flirted with the idea of trading up for some more highly-touted quarterbacks, they ultimately opted to select Prescott in the fourth round.

While team leadership intended for Prescott to ease into life in the pros — at least for one season — Dallas' plans were foiled when Romo suffered a serious back injury during a preseason game. With their starter sidelined for several months, the Cowboys handed the reins to their rookie quarterback.

Prescott shined under the bright lights from the get-go and started in all 16 of Dallas' regular-season games that season. He threw for 3,667 yards and 23 touchdowns, both of which set rookie franchise records, as he led the Cowboys to a stellar 13-3 record.

And with only four interceptions in that span — good for a franchise-best 0.9% interception percentage — Prescott soared to a 104.9 passer rating, another record among rookies in Dallas. It was little surprise when he earned NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year and Pro Bowl honors at the end of the season.

Prescott has led the Cowboys to four playoff berths over his eight seasons in Dallas, and he's been ranked among the top 100 players in the NFL — as voted on by his colleagues in the league — in half of his years under center. And, perhaps most impressively, he's maintained his high level of play even in the seasons after he suffered the catastrophic compound ankle fracture that ended his 2020 season.

He's played his way into generational wealth via several massive NFL contracts.

Prescott's success on the field has translated to incredible financial success off of it. But, at least relatively speaking, he was not making the big bucks in the earliest years of his career.

The quarterback signed a — again, relatively — modest four-year, $2,723,393 entry-level contract with the Cowboys ahead of his rookie season. The deal came with a $383,393 signing bonus, all of which was guaranteed, per Spotrac.

But by 2020 — his fifth year as an NFL starter — Prescott was in the market for a much more lucrative deal. And in March of that year, well before training camp began, Dallas placed a franchise tag on the superstar worth a whopping $31.4 million — 100% guaranteed, according to Spotrac — for that season alone.

The next year, Prescott locked in his long-term future with the Cowboys by signing a massive four-year contract worth $160 million. He earned a $66 million signing bonus —at the time the largest signing bonus in NFL history, per Forbes — with $126 million of the deal guaranteed.

In all, Prescott has collected an incredible $162 million over his time in Dallas. And that's just from his contracts with the Cowboys...

According to Forbes, Prescott boasts "one of football's strongest endorsement portfolios." The outlet lists Albertson's, Anheuser-Busch InBev, AT&T, Beats, DirecTV, Frito-Lay, Nike, Panini, PepsiCo, Seven & I Holdings, and Sleep Number among his sponsors.

He's also partnered with 7-Eleven, Blockchain, Evamor, Gentleman's Playbook, Glow, Keurig, and Oikos, according to ads he's appeared in or shared on social media.

Forbes estimates that Prescott raked in a collective $15 million from his off-field ventures between May 2022 and May 2023. He landed at No. 46 on the outlet's 2023 list of the world's highest-paid athletes with a total estimated annual income of $46 million.

And while the official sum of money Prescott has to his name isn't available to the public, outlets including Yahoo Sports have cited $60 million as his net worth in 2023.

Prescott hasn't merely pocketed the millions upon millions he's made from his team and his sponsors, and not just because there's no way it'd fit. He's used his earnings to help grow his net worth by building an impressive investment portfolio.

The Dallas-based quarterback made a significant investment in a OxeFit — a fitness startup out of Plano, Texas — in 2021 alongside several other NFL stars, according to Crunchbase. The brand combined robotics and artificial intelligence to create a workout machine that offers users coaching and feedback during strength training.

That same year, Prescott purchased a 20% stake in sports bar and restaurant chain Walk-On's, per CNBC. Forbes reports that he is also part of the ownership groups of four individual franchises located in Texas.

The Cowboys star bought into RealTruck — a manufacturer of accessories — in 2022, per Crunchbase. And in late November 2023, he invested in IMG Academy, a sports education company with a campus in Bradenton, Florida, according to Bloomberg.

In 2019, Prescott dropped a cool $3.3 million on a mansion in Prosper, Texas. According to Zillow, the five-bedroom, seven-bathroom home sits on seven acres of property that includes a private pond, a luxurious pool area with an attached spa and nearby fire pit, and plenty of patio space for entertaining.

Inside the house, Prescott can enjoy a massive kitchen with granite countertops and stainless steel appliances; a game room complete with a sports simulator screen, pool table, bar, and jumbotron with four TVs; a movie theater with plush leather chairs and a massive projector; a huge main bedroom that boasts a fireplace and on-suite bathroom with a jetted tub and steam shower; a home gym; and an office with its own fireplace adjacent to the desk.

Perhaps the most unique aspect of the estate is the custom practice field Prescott built in his yard. ESPN reported that he hired the same company to install custom "DK4" logos and inscribe the word "Faith" across each end zone that the Cowboys employed to install the fields at AT&T Stadium.

Prescott later added a golf hole in the yard, too.

Prescott rarely rolls up to AT&T Stadium — or anywhere else nearby — in a car that's not fit for Cowboys royalty. According to Sportskeeda, he owns a Cadillac Escalade, Corvette Stingray, Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat, Lamborghini Urus, Mercedes-Benz C63, Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG, and Tesla Model S.

Much of Prescott's time is spent out on the gridiron with him Cowboys teammates. But in the rare moments he finds himself with some free time, the QB loves to play golf and go fishing.

He also makes a point to prioritize spending time with his loved ones. Growing up, Prescott lived with his mother and two brothers in a three-bedroom trailer in rural Louisiana, per Heavy. He remained close with all three into adulthood, but lost his mom to cancer in 2013 and his brother, Jace, to suicide seven years later, according to his foundation's website.

Prescott also spends as much time as he can with his girlfriend, Sarah Jane Ramos. And they'll be spending even more time together in the near future, as the couple announced in November 2023 that they were expecting their first child together.

Their daughter will join a family that also includes Prescott's two dogs — pit bulls Legend and Icon.

Prescott is very philanthropic. He started his own charity, The Faith Fight Finish Foundation, as a tribute to his mother after she died of colon cancer.

The organization has since expanded its work into four core areas: colon cancer research, mental health awareness and suicide prevention (on behalf of Prescott's late brother), improving relations between law enforcement and their communities, and assisting families struggling with financial hardship — particularly after experiencing medical adversity.

Prescott also contributes to causes outside of his own foundation. He donated $1 million to combat systemic racism within the criminal justice system after the death of George Floyd. He served as a co-chair of the Children's Cancer Fund Gala in 2021. And Prescott contributes to the Defensive End Foundation, which helps individuals improve their mental health regardless of their background, per Sports Illustrated.

The star quarterback was even named 2022 NFL Walter Payton Man of the Year — an award that honors a player's commitment to philanthropy and community service.
