A shocking video shows the moment a Texas high-school football player ran back on the field and attacked the referee after being ejected from a game on Thursday.
Emmanuel Duron, a senior at Edinburg High School, was penalized in the second quarter for a late hit on a player from PSJA High School.
In the video, Duron sprints from the sideline toward the referee and slams into him. The referee falls and remains down while coaches and teammates push the Edinburg defensive lineman away.

The Monitor, a local newspaper in McAllen, reported that Duron was escorted from the stadium by police officers while the referee was evaluated in an ambulance for concussion-like symptoms.
Andrew McCulloch, a reporter for The Monitor, said that he spoke to Edinburg's coach, JJ Lejia, after the game but that Lejia said he couldn't share any more information about the incident.
"I can't release any information on that and I apologize for that," Lejia told McCulloch. "I hope you understand. I want this [moment] to be about our program and all the other kids we had on the field tonight."
It was unclear whether Duron, who was the district's defensive player of the year last season, would face criminal charges. The Edinburg Police Department did not immediately reply to Insider's request for comment early Friday.

The Monitor reported that Duron was suspended for part of the soccer season last year over a similar incident during a match against Edinburg Vela, a crosstown rival.
Edinburg won the game 35-21 against PSJA on Thursday.
