In what could be called shocking days for Indian passengers who love travelling by air, SpiceJet has followed the steps of IndiGo in raising cancellation charges on its air tickets. It has also decided to raise the rescheduling charges from April 7 onwards.
For cancelling domestic tickets, passengers had to pay Rs 1,899, which has been raised to Rs 2,250; while for international tickets, this has been raised from Rs 2349 to Rs 2,500.
As per travel agents, other airlines too are expected to follow suit.
Directorate General of Civil Aviation had last year said that the sharp hike in ticket cancellation charges by airlines would be probed for being 'unreasonable'.
